- 24 strawberries
- 1 cup white candy melts or white chocolate melting wafers
- 1/2 cup red, white, and blue nonpareil sprinkles
- Rinse the strawberries, then dry them very well with paper towels so no moisture is left on the berries.
- Add the white candy melts or white chocolate melting wafers to a small, deep microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second rounds, stirring after each round, until smooth and melted.
- Hold each strawberry by the leaves and dip it into the melted coating until about two-thirds of the berry is covered.
- Right away, press the lower third of the coated strawberry into the red, white, and blue nonpareil sprinkles.
- Arrange the dipped strawberries on a baking sheet lined with wax paper or parchment paper.
- If using white chocolate, chill the strawberries until the coating is fully firm. If using candy melts, let them rest for 30 minutes until set. In a humid kitchen, refrigerate them for the cleanest finish.
- Serve right after the coating sets and enjoy them the same day they are made.
Notes
- For the best bite, make these on the day you plan to serve them. They can be prepared a couple of hours early, but the strawberries may soften if made the day before.
- Dry berries are key. Let the strawberries sit after washing if needed, then pat them again before dipping so the coating clings smoothly.
