Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast Casserole

- 1 pkg biscuits, 8 count
- 6 eggs
- 1 pkg peppered gravy mix, 2.3 oz package
- 1 lb sausage
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Coat a 9×13 baking dish with grease and heat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Brown the sausage in a skillet until fully cooked, then pour off any extra grease.
- Slice each biscuit into small chunks, making about 4 pieces from each biscuit.
- Scatter the biscuit pieces evenly across the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Spoon the cooked sausage over the biscuit layer.
- Add the shredded cheddar cheese over the sausage.
- Whisk the eggs and milk together in a small bowl, then season with salt and pepper as desired.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the cheese.
- Make the peppered gravy using the package directions, then pour it over the casserole.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the biscuits and eggs are fully set.
- Let the casserole come out of the oven warm and serve while cozy and fresh.
Notes
- For make-ahead prep, assemble the casserole, cover it well, and refrigerate before baking.
- A chilled casserole may need extra oven time, so check the center before serving.
- If the top browns too quickly, loosely cover the pan with foil while it finishes baking.
