Baked Feta Pasta Recipe

Creamy baked feta pasta with roasted tomatoes and fresh basil

BAKED FETA PASTA brings roasted grape tomatoes, creamy feta, basil, and warm bow tie pasta together in one cozy oven-baked dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups grape tomatoes, rinsed and dried well
  • 1 8-ounce block feta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 5 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 12 ounces bow tie pasta, cooked, drained, and kept warm

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Add the grape tomatoes to a medium baking dish and spread them around the bottom.
  3. Place the block of feta in the middle of the tomatoes.
  4. Spoon 3 tablespoons of olive oil over the tomatoes and cheese.
  5. Season the dish with Italian seasoning and salt.
  6. Drizzle the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil directly over the feta.
  7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the tomatoes split and the feta turns soft.
  8. Take the dish out of the oven and mash the feta and tomatoes together into a creamy sauce.
  9. Add the chopped basil and stir it through the sauce.
  10. Fold in the warm bow tie pasta until coated, then serve right away.

Notes

  • Short pasta shapes like penne, shells, rotini, or orecchiette can be used instead of bow tie pasta.
  • For the smoothest sauce, mix the pasta in while it is still warm.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat with a small splash of water or olive oil to loosen the sauce.
  • Freezing is not recommended because the feta texture may become grainy.
