American Flag Rice Krispie Treats

American Flag Rice Krispie treats decorated with red white and blue candy melts

These American Flag Rice Krispie treats are a festive no-bake dessert with chewy cereal bars, colorful candy coating, and patriotic sprinkles perfect for summer parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 paper straws, cut in half
  • 2 oz white candy melts
  • 8 pre-packaged Rice Krispie treats, unwrapped
  • 5 oz red candy melts
  • 5 oz blue candy melts
  • Red, white, and blue sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Heat the white candy melts according to the package instructions until completely smooth.
  2. Dip one end of each paper straw into the melted white coating, then press it into the side of each cereal treat. Arrange them on parchment paper and allow the coating to firm up.
  3. Melt the red candy melts until smooth and creamy.
  4. Hold each treat by the straw and coat part of the bar in the red candy mixture. Lightly shake off the extra coating before setting it back onto the parchment paper.
  5. Prepare the blue candy melts following the package directions.
  6. Dip the opposite side of each treat into the blue coating. While still wet, scatter the patriotic sprinkles over the top so they stick.
  7. Warm the remaining white candy melts again until pourable.
  8. Spoon the melted white coating into a plastic bag, trim a tiny corner, and drizzle thin lines across the red-coated section of each treat.
  9. Leave the decorated treats on parchment paper until the candy coating has fully set.
  10. Keep the treats in an airtight container until serving time.

Notes

  • Allow the candy coating to set fully before stacking or storing the treats.
  • If the candy melts become too thick, warm them briefly and stir until smooth again.
  • Parchment paper helps prevent sticking and makes cleanup easier.
