This Oreo Dump Cake is a gooey chocolate dessert with cookie pieces, pudding, cake mix, and a buttery baked topping.

  • 24 Oreo cookies, roughly chopped
  • 1 box instant chocolate pudding mix, 3.9 ounces
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix, 15.25 ounces
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup whipped topping, such as Cool Whip
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips, optional
  • Extra Oreo cookies for garnish, optional

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F and lightly coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with grease.
  2. Arrange the chopped Oreo cookies across the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. Whisk the chocolate pudding mix with the cold milk in a bowl for about 2 minutes, until it thickens.
  4. Spoon or pour the pudding over the cookie layer and spread it gently.
  5. Scatter the dry chocolate cake mix evenly over the pudding.
  6. Pour the melted butter over the top, covering as much of the cake mix as possible.
  7. Bake for 35 minutes, until the surface looks set with lightly crisp edges.
  8. Let the dessert rest for 10 minutes before adding toppings.
  9. Finish with whipped topping, mini chocolate chips, and extra Oreo pieces if desired.
  10. Serve warm or let it cool to room temperature before scooping.
