- Category: Drinks
- 3 tablespoons vanilla-flavored syrup
- 1 cup reduced-fat 2% milk
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 2 Nespresso espresso capsules, or 2 freshly pulled espresso shots
- 1 tablespoon caramel dessert sauce
- Add the vanilla syrup to a 16-ounce glass, then pour in the milk and fill the glass with ice.
- Brew 2 Nespresso capsules or prepare 2 espresso shots, then slowly pour the hot espresso over the ice.
- Finish with the caramel sauce. For a coffeehouse-style pattern, make 7 lines in one direction, 7 crossing lines, and 2 rings around the rim.
Notes
- Build the drink in layers: vanilla and milk first, followed by ice and espresso, with the caramel added at the end.
- For one 16-ounce drink, use 2 Nespresso espresso or ristretto capsules. One Vertuo double-espresso capsule also provides the correct amount.
- When using a Vertuo machine, select an espresso capsule rather than a coffee capsule that produces 7.77 ounces.
- Two-percent milk gives the closest coffeehouse-style result, although another milk may be substituted.
- Try the first few sips before stirring. The top tastes more strongly of caramel and espresso, while the lower layer is milkier and vanilla-forward.
