Fig Goat Cheese Flatbread topped with caramelized and fresh figs, creamy goat cheese, arugula, and fig balsamic drizzle

Fig Goat Cheese Flatbread combines seasonal ingredients in an approachable baking recipe with a carefully controlled texture. The independently written steps preserve the verified quantities, yield, and timing while giving home cooks clear cues for serving the finished dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package Stonefire artisan flatbread
  • 1 tablespoon garlic-infused olive oil
  • 4 ounces goat cheese, divided
  • 4 fresh figs, divided
  • 2 cups fresh arugula
  • 2 teaspoons fig balsamic vinegar

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 400°F. Place the flatbread on a pizza stone or keep an oven rack ready for direct baking.
  2. Drizzle the flatbread with garlic-infused olive oil and brush it into a thin, even layer that reaches close to the edges.
  3. Cut 2 figs into small pieces. Scatter them over the flatbread with about 2 to 3 ounces of the goat cheese, reserving the remaining cheese and 2 figs.
  4. Bake directly on the oven rack or pizza stone for 3 to 4 minutes, or until the flatbread edges are crisp, the goat cheese is warm, and the fig pieces are lightly caramelized.
  5. Thinly slice the remaining figs. Carefully remove the flatbread, add arugula, reserved goat cheese, and fresh fig slices, then drizzle evenly with fig balsamic vinegar. Cut into four portions and serve.

Notes

  • Brush on only a light film of garlic olive oil so the base crisps instead of becoming heavy.
  • Keep the fig pieces small and evenly distributed to support quick caramelization during the brief bake.
  • Reserve part of the figs and goat cheese for topping to create fresh, creamy, warm, and crisp textures together.
