American Flag Layered Taco Dip

American Flag Layered Taco Dip topped with tomatoes, mozzarella, and black olives

This American Flag Layered Taco Dip is a cool, colorful party appetizer with creamy layers, taco-seasoned beans, and a festive flag topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 32 ounces refried beans
  • 1 packet taco seasoning, 1.5 ounces
  • 2 cups guacamole
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 cups diced tomatoes
  • 2.25 ounces sliced black olives

Instructions

  1. Add the refried beans and taco seasoning to a mixing bowl, then blend until the seasoning is worked evenly through the beans.
  2. Spoon the seasoned bean mixture into a 13 x 9 baking dish and smooth it across the base.
  3. Gently add the guacamole over the beans, spreading it into an even layer without disturbing the bottom layer.
  4. Cover the guacamole with sour cream and smooth the top so it is ready for decorating.
  5. Arrange the diced tomatoes, shredded mozzarella cheese, and sliced black olives over the sour cream to form an American flag design.
  6. Cover the dish and chill for at least 1 hour before serving cold.

Notes

  • Use either a packet of taco seasoning or your favorite homemade blend.
  • Chilling the dip for at least 1 hour helps the layers set and makes scooping easier.
  • Keep leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to three days.
